Galveston Engagement, Houston Wedding Photographer: Megan & Brent
Houston Wedding Photographer: This Galveston engagement session on The Strand and near Pleasure Pier was so much fun! Engagement sessions in Galveston are some my favorites and I really love the fun, young look of a carnival engagement!! I have to say, if I could spend an entire day walking the streets of Galveston with my camera and a couple of love birds, I totally would! This is by far my favorite place to shoot!
It was a not so chilly day on the beach for this couple as we walked the sands of the Galveston Seawall & the streets of The Strand. Megan and Brent are one of those couples that quietly flirt with each other, then all of sudden, Brent turns up the heat and I couldn’t help but smile and laugh through this whole shoot! They are amazing people and totally living up “the island” life! In fact, they use the term “mainland” when referring to the greater Houston area. So I guess you could say, I traveled the seas for this island engagement session!
Megan is a 5th grade teacher and Brent attends the Texas Maritime Academy in Galveston. I can see why they like living there so much; it’s such a small town feel where everybody knows your name (queue the Cheers theme song…) Prior to living in Galveston, these two companions were living the city life up in the Dallas/Fort Worth craziness. After meeting and hitting it off in a very 21st century kind of way, they fell in love and moved to Galveston.
Brent proposed in the middle of the bay on a kayak. It’s a good thing she said “yes” or it might have been a long cold swim back to shore for some unlucky person! I’d like to say that Brent’s kayaking proposal caught Megan completely off guard, but the out of the ordinary fanny pack might have been a good clue. (You mean Brent doesn’t normally wear a fanny pack around?? Haha!)
