As a wedding planner, I get asked so many questions by brides and grooms about the planning process. I compiled a list of the most common questions to help guide you through hiring a planner… and ultimately easing your stress!
Why should we hire a wedding planner?
A professional wedding planner has seen it all, done it all, and knows what works, what doesn’t, and what issues to anticipate. Your wedding is the most important day of your life, thus far, so why risk any mishaps to do it yourself? A planner knows how to think through the details, refer quality vendors that match your style, and walk you through the process (without you losing your mind). Trust your wedding to a professional, so that you are able to enjoy your engagement with your significant other. After all, this is the beginning of your life together.
Where do I spend money?
Clearly, the bulk of your budget is spent on your venue / reception. However, when it comes to your photographer, this is not a place to skimp. When your wedding is over, and as the years pass, you will have these images to remind you of the day you said, “I Do,” and you want them to be spectacular! A wedding coordinator is also a very small percentage of your cost, and is important to make a priority in your budget.
I’m on a tight budget, Can I afford a wedding coordinator?
Most definitely! As a wedding planner, I offer a variety of packages to fit my client’s needs. Even if full coordination and design is not something you are seeking, there are other options that can be a bang for your buck.
What sets you apart from other wedding coordinators?
My attention to my clients and focus on details distinguishes me from other wedding planners. I am a boutique wedding company, and pride myself on service to each bride I have. Your most important day, is my most important day. With regards to details, I have the ability to take your vision and ideas and truly expand on them so that each element truly affects you and your groom, making the details incredible.
Do I need a Day of Coordinator?
Planning your wedding is more than just colors, dresses, flowers, and food (although those are all important)! However, there are many logistical details to consider including your timeline, knowledge of vendors, setup time, etcetera. It is the job of your day of coordinator to focus on these details, so that you can enjoy your wedding!
My venue has a wedding coordinator. Do I still need to hire one?
Almost all venues have wedding coordinators and/or catering managers on staff that will be helping you with the venue you choose. While they are very knowledgeable, their first commitment is to the venue itself. You may opt to have your own coordinator to handle all of your details and the logistics of your day.
There are many wedding planners out there. How do I know who to choose?
The planning process is a very important, as well as highly emotional, time. It is so important that you select someone who you feel comfortable with, understands you, and will meet your needs.
I have many ideas about my wedding, but what if my planner disagrees?
It is the job of your planner to be there for YOU. It is the job of the planner to work with your vision and help your ideas come to light. With that said, a planner also has expertise in what will work, and what may not. So, they should have advice that will help your day run perfectly, but it is their job to ultimately put your vision into action.
