Country Wedding, Houston Wedding Photographer: Veronica & Joe

Apr 21, 2014 3 Comments

This isn’t your average DIY country wedding in Houston!  And this Houston wedding photographer has not seen so much heart and love put into wedding details.  An absolute perfect glimpse into the devotion that Joe and Veronica have for each other.

The bride, groom and their talented group of family and friends spent the months before the wedding working on all kinds of DIY mason jar inspired wedding projects from signs, to streamers, to overhead decorations and favors.  Crystal Springs weddings are always a great time with gorgeous sunsets between the trees and lots of boot, scoot and boogie-ing!  This was truly a custom wedding.  The bride, groom and their wedding party had special gifts made just for them.  The bridesmaids had their bridesmaid dresses designed made from lace wedding dresses with alternating slips in shades of coral and turquoise underneath.  The groom and his men (and Best Lady!) sported custom monogramed handkerchiefs, superhero boutonnieres, and Marvel comic hangers.  Other personal gifts and decor included:  a special ordered clutch for the bride, handmade fabric bouquets for the bridesmaids, custom bridesmaid hangers, fancy mason jar toasting glasses, an amazing DJ table with custom mason jar logo, handmade wooded sign-in bench, burlap “J,”  “&” and “V” initials, and I know there are tons of other things I’m missing but let’s just say this is TRULY one hell of a DIY WEDDING!!

Motley Mélange isn’t new to weddings so we’d be lying if we said they all make us cry, but for this one, we had tears not just during the ceremony, but during the reception too!  Such an amazing, thoughtful and wonderful couple that Joe and Veronica are.  We are absolutely THRILLED to be part of their day and we are totally saddened that our experience with these two has come to an end…..but maybe not!  We’re already working on a great idea for her selfless and thoughtful wedding dress “recycling.”

Thank you for capturing all these amazing moments throughout our wedding day. My favorite part of our special day was the “First Look.” I enjoyed the romantic moment alone with my Groom, it was a moment that we could talk, laugh & kiss and see each other without other distractions between us. I was so nervous and anxious until the second I saw him standing there blindfolded I could finally see him and all my butterflies went away. We didn’t have to hold back, that was what made the moment feel so wonderful and we both cried. I believe it gave me the opportunity to walk down the aisle and take pleasure in the moment of our family & friends being there for us. I was able to stop and take a glimpse of each of our loved ones staring at me and truly take in that moment. I would highly recommend doing the “First Look” to any future brides because it was truly my most favorite part of the day.
