You could have heard this party from San Patricio all the way to Corpus! It was a packed house for the Morgan/Pavelka wedding this past September at The Ranch at San Patricio. Kristie & Sean are just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Being part of their day was a truly a blessing and we had such a blast spending time the day with them! (And a previous day with Kristie here at the same location for her jaw dropping bridal session–Coming Soon to the Motley blog!)
One of the best parts of this wedding is the backstory. Morgan, newly engaged and looking for a wedding photographer, stumbled upon the Motley Mélange Facebook page (friend of a friend, six degrees of separation thing, you get the picture). She told Sean about Motley Mélange so he sat down with her to check it out, only to realize that the face behind the logo was someone he recognized!
Sean and I (and John) all grew up together. John and Sean were wee folks on the soccer field and the three of us spent our middle school and high school days walking the same halls and playing on the same tennis courts. When I received an email from Sean earlier this year, asking about wedding photography, I literally did a double take. Such a small world for his fiancé to pick us out of all the other photographers in….well, did I mention they live in Corpus? It’s amazing how close we all become when we sign up for Facebook.
Anyway, so of course I was super stoked to be part of their amazing day! Aren’t they phenomenal looking together?!
For those of you interested in the girl behind the lens, John captured this great setup shot. The photo above is a result of the photo below.
Their wedding was on a Saturday and as I made my way from Houston to Mathis, Texas, I couldn’t help but be envious of my husband whom I’d left at home to watch the Longhorns whoop up on the New Mexico Lobos… that is until I pulled up to the gate of The Ranch, then I knew everything was going to be so amazing! With a herd of Longhorns like that, they were destined to win!! (I should probably stop before my Aggie clients get angry…)
I just want to take a minute to give HUGE props to Kristie and her friends and family who helped put this STUNNING wedding together. From the centerpieces, to the guestbook, to the table that the cakes sat on, EVERYTHING was perfect and not a corner was overlooked. Phenomenal job, everyone! (If I could tag you all, I would!)
In case you’re wondering, those are green shotgun shells (edible, of course) sitting pretty next to the strawberries and raspberries on the grooms cake…
Vintage dresser for a cake stand! A table on top of a table on top of a table for a tired photo stand! Genius, just genius.
Standing room only at this wedding! That’s when you know you have one hell of a group of family and friends.
I mentioned that John, Sean and I all went to grade school together…so we knew we would probably know a few of the guests at the reception, but we had no idea it was going to be a mini reunion! It was so much fun seeing dozens of familiar faces and spending the evening with everyone celebrating the happiest day of Kristie & Sean’s life thus far.
This couple never stopped smiling and laughing. I can’t even imagine how much fun they have on a daily basis together! I mean, really… JUST LOOK AT THEM!…
Meet Morgan. He’s been best friends with Sean since….hell, a long time. He’s a pretty funny guy, and his best man speech, well, I’d say it was hit!
There are so many fun and awesome photos that came from this wedding and so many friendly faces. This wedding was not only fabulously planned and decorated, but it was celebrating two warm hearted, and unimaginably sweet and thoughtful people. To Kristie & Sean: I wish many many years of happiness together and may God bless you with as many kids as you have dogs!
And heck yea, Motley Mélange travels for weddings!
